Active Members: Active members shall consist of law enforcement officers, with the power of arrest, in the service of the Federal Government, the State of North Carolina, and Bureau or Agency thereof; or any County, Municipality, or other local government subdivision within the State of North Carolina; or any officer certified by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
Associate Members: Associate members shall consist of supportive personnel in the service of the Federal Government, the State of North Carolina, and Bureau or Agency thereof; or any County, Municipality, or other local government subdivision within the State of North Carolina.
Life Members: Life members shall consist of an active or associate member, who has retired in good standing, after serving twenty (20) consecutive years in the Association or retired from his/her Federal, North Carolina State or local agency, because of a physical disability/medical disability/medical disability/psychological disability in the line of duty, with a minimum of five (5) years consecutive in the Association.
Honorary Members: Non-law enforcement advocates who have demonstrated significant support for the advancement of the law enforcement profession and or the Association.
Auxiliary Members: Consisting of spouses and significant others who participate in and support activities of the Association.
State Constitution: We, a body of Law Enforcement Officers, organized as the North State law Enforcement Officers Association, do hereby bind ourselves together for the purpose of advancing the science and art of law enforcement and crime prevention and to ensure that a just atmosphere prevails for all law enforcement officers.
State By-Laws: The Executive Board shall within the limits of the Constitution and By-Laws, have supervision, control and direction of the affairs of the Association.
Membership Application: Several hundred officers (men and women) have bound themselves together through N.S.L.E.O.A. to ensure that a just atmosphere prevails for all law enforcement officers. In order to obtain or maintain membership in N.S.L.E.O.A., an individual must be affiliated with and be in good standing with an approved chapter
